PUBLIC VS PRIVATE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS IN CONSUMER FINANCING – A VIEW
Name of Author :
Dr. A. Abitha Barveen, Dr. R. Aathi Lakshmi
Abstract:
Consumer financing has become a vital component of economic growth, enabling individuals to access credit for consumption and investment purposes. This study compares public and private financial institutions in terms of service quality, accessibility, and customer satisfaction. The research is based on primary data collected from 139 respondents. Statistical tools such as percentage analysis, factor analysis, and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) were employed. The findings indicate that private financial institutions excel in responsiveness, innovation, and customer service, while public institutions are preferred for trust, security, and wider reach. The study concludes that both sectors play a complementary role in strengthening consumer financing in India.
