The Challenges of Addressing Climate Justice and Human Rights in Nigeria and India

Abstract: This study delves into the complex and interlinked challenges of climate justice and human rights in two of the world's most populous and climate-vulnerable nations: Nigeria and India. Both countries face escalating environmental crises, including rising temperatures, erratic weather patterns, and environmental degradation, which disproportionately affect marginalized communities. The research explores how systemic governance failures, socio-economic inequalities, and inadequate policy implementation hinder the realization of climate justice and the protection of human rights. Through a comparative analysis, the study highlights the roles of civil society, international cooperation, and legal frameworks in addressing these challenges. It concludes with policy recommendations aimed at fostering inclusive, rights-based climate governance that promotes resilience and sustainable development.
